about

When all the protests were happening, I spent a lot if time trying to process everything that I was feeling. I noticed that I always make songs from my point of view. It is the artist’s job to reflect the times that they live in. I knew that was something I always wanted to do, but I had to grow into that role.

This song is me looking at what’s happening and what I’d tell the people protesting. I had to look outside of myself at what’s going on and how people are being affected. Hearing people’s fears, anxieties, and watching everything happening on TV really helped me write the song. I hope that it can be an anthem for my people as they’re fighting for a better America.

A percentage of the proceeds from FIGHT! will be donated to the following 3 organizations:

-Chicago Community Bond Fund
-Black Lives Matter Chicago
-Greater Chicago Food Depository

lyrics

There’s already so much pain
So much pain
So much pain
There’s already so much pain

And there ain’t nothin' else we can do

There’s already so much pain
So much pain
So much pain
There’s already so much pain

And there ain’t nothin else we can do

They got tanks coming through right here
Through right here
Through right here
They got tanks coming through right here

And there ain’t nothin else we can do

They got tanks coming through right here
Through right here
Through right here
They got tanks coming through right here

And there ain’t nothin else we can do

But to fight
Nothin to do but fight
Stand up to fight
It’s your moral right
To stand against divide

Starin officers in the face
Sprayed with mace
For no reason
Seein' dead bodies in the street

And there ain’t nothin else we can do

There aint no other way to talk
Way to shout out and be heard
The only way we can end this all
Is act on just one word and that’s to
Fight

Nothin' to do but fight
Stand up to fight
It’s your moral right
To stand against divide

We’re done bein pressed under your neck
Hangin on your rope
Livin' in your time capsule
We spent too much time like this

And there ain’t nothin else we can do

We’ve already been disgraced
Beaten and raped and slapped in the face
Nows the time to take everything back

Cause there ain’t nothin else we can do now
But to fight

Even If it takes all you have
Just fight
We’ve been down for too long
And it’s time
For revolution
